The Snow Building - Downtown Durham Penthouse

Maxwell Joseph of Hem+Spire purchased the historic Snow Building and approached Szostak to perform various interior renovations and a Penthouse apartment. We accepted the challenge. Being classified as a National Historic Landmark, we had to be very sensitive to protect the original character of the building.

After many meetings and presentations to Durham’s Historic Preservation Commission, the design was approved with a glass canopy and zinc cladding.
